Role & responsibilities

Safety officer are responsible for planning, implementing, and enforcing an organization's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.

Their primary objective is to create a workplace that is safe and healthy for people.

They take ownership of workplace safety programs and may train staff on proper procedures to avoid accidents or injuries. They often take a lead role in overseeing the organizations Environmental Management System, and would also establish the protocol for how to handle natural disasters that may have an environmental impact.

Preferred candidate profile

  1. The candidate shall be a graduate preferably a B.Sc graduate or Engineering graduate AND shall have completed MINIMUM diploma course in Industrial Safety from a reputed Institute.
  2. The candidate shall have minimum THREE years FULL time experience in safety management as a safety officer in lubricant/ grease manufacturing plant or chemical plant or paint industry or processing industry involving personal safety and environmental safety hazards.
  3. The candidate shall be fully aware of operations of fire hydrant system, sprinkler system, operations & service of Fire extinguishers, work permits including working at height. The candidate shall be capable of conducting mock fire drill, emergency response fire drill in consultation with neighbouring industries, JSA(Job safety analysis), TBT, safety committee meeting, making of ppt related to safety & preparation of MIS reports, safety audit compliances etc.
