Key job responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall development life cycle of the solution and manage complex projects with significant bottom line impact
- Work with product managers in developing a strategy and road map to provide compelling capabilities for the seller community on marketplace that helps them succeed in their business goals.
- Work closely with senior engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development.
- Instill best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.
- Project management - prioritization , planning of projects and features, Stakeholder management and tracking of external commitments
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet program timelines with optimal solutions.
- Operational Excellence - monitoring & operation of production services

This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every two months. We do not like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our systems are fault tolerant. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause so that we don't get paged for the same issue twice.

About the team
Amazon Pay Rewards team located in World Trade Center, Bangalore is looking for a leadership role to lead a high-performing team to build multiple India first Rewards capability from scratch. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team that will be responsible for building a successful, sustainable and strategic business for Amazon Pay, from the ground up. Apart of technical challenges, you will also get a chance to work on mathematical, economic and gamification models to engage more customers in an economically sustainable way.

Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 3+ years of Video Games Industry (supporting title Development, Release, or Live Ops) experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
