Backend Developer Intern (Paid Internship) – Medzillo

Medzillo is a fast-growing health-tech startup on a mission to revolutionize how healthcare logistics and medical supply chains operate. We're building scalable systems to make healthcare delivery faster, smarter, and more reliable.

As part of our core tech team, you'll work directly with the founder—solving real problems, shipping production code, and helping us build the backbone of Medzillo's technology.

What You'll Do

  • Debug and fix issues in existing backend systems and APIs.
  • Optimize performance and scalability of backend services.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
  • Assist in designing and implementing new features in coordination with the product team.
  • Contribute to documentation and best practices for backend architecture.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of , Express.
  • Experience working with databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar).
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and JSON.
  • Good problem-solving skills and debugging ability.
  • Knowledge of version control (Git/GitHub).
  • Basic understanding of (for deployment and backend hosting).
  • Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and API design.

Nice to Have

  • Understanding of authentication and security best practices (JWT, OAuth, etc.).
  • Interest in scalable systems and microservices architecture.
