Job Title: Site Engineer
Job Overview:
As a site engineer, you will monitor diversified aspects of construction project management. This will include planning, coordination and supervision of on-site activities. You will also foster effective communication by liaising with contractors, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be familiar with various engineering methodologies and has hands-on experience in construction project management. You will work with civil engineers, structural engineers, architects and surveyors to ensure that building sites are fit for purpose. You will ensure all aspects of the project align with engineering and design specifications, industry standards and construction regulations.
Ultimately, the role of the site engineer is to oversee all operations on the construction site and ensure projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining safety standards. The ideal candidate will merge their technical skills with project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Oversee various aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed according to specifications, on time, and within budget.
- Compile estimates for technical and material requirements for project development.
Inspect facilities and analyze operational data.
Technical Support:
Provide technical advice and support to construction teams, helping to solve engineering-related problems on-site.
- Determine and present estimates of operating costs.
- Evaluate operations and processes.
- Suggest process and technical design changes to improve performance and efficiency.
- Monitor project progress, compliance and safety standards.
- Direct engineering activities, assign tasks, provide training and support.
Create work schedules and adjust as needed to meet deadlines.
Quality Assurance:
Monitor construction progress and quality of work to ensure compliance with designs and specifications.
- Implement improvements to designs and processes.
- Test material and structure integrity.
- Research the environmental impact of projects.
Incorporate eco-friendly and sustainable features into design plans.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure that safety protocols and procedures are followed at all times, conducting regular safety inspections.
Communication:
Act as a liaison between clients, contractors, and project managers, regularly updating them on project status and any issues that arise.
Collaborate with management to align activities with business objectives.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, quality reports, site activities and material usage.
- Create graphical representations of proposed solutions.
Compile and present reports on projects in a nontechnical way for stakeholders.
Material Management:
Oversee the usage and storage of materials and construction equipment, coordinating with suppliers for timely deliveries.
Job Requirements:
Site Engineer Skills and Qualification:
Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering, construction management, building or a related field is typically required.
Experience:
Previous experience in a similar role is often preferred, along with hands-on experience in construction project management, building and design. 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar position.

Technical Knowledge:
