Core responsibilities

  • Tax compliance and reporting: Overseeing the accurate and timely preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations.
  • Strategic tax planning and optimization: Developing and implementing tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize after-tax profits. This includes identifying opportunities for tax savings, structuring transactions efficiently, and advising on tax implications of various business decisions like mergers and acquisitions.
  • Tax provision and financial reporting: Managing the tax provision process and ensuring accurate tax-related financial disclosures for internal and external reporting.
  • Tax research and knowledge maintenance: Staying updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, assessing their impact on the organization, and providing guidance to management and other departments.

  • Deep expertise in US tax laws: Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations is paramount.
  • Tax accounting and financial reporting proficiency: Knowledge of accounting principles and experience with tax provision and reporting processes are essential.
