GST Compliance and Notice Handling Executive

Key Responsibilities:

  1. GST Compliance:

  2. Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, GSTR-9C, etc.).

  3. Ensure timely payment of GST liability and maintenance of proper challans.
  4. Perform reconciliation of GSTR-2A/2B with purchase registers and address mismatches.
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date GST records, ledgers, and documentation.
  6. Monitor changes in GST laws, notifications, and circulars, and implement necessary updates.

  7. Ensure proper classification of goods and services and accuracy in HSN/SAC codes.

  8. GST Notices and Litigation:

  9. Review and analyze GST notices, demands, and show-cause letters received from authorities.

  10. Draft and file responses, explanations, or appeals in coordination with consultants or legal advisors.
  11. Maintain a tracker for all GST notices, responses, and pending cases.
  12. Coordinate with GST officers during audits, assessments, and inquiries.

  13. Prepare supporting documents, data, and reconciliations required for notice replies or hearings.

  14. Internal Coordination and Reporting:

  15. Liaise with cross-functional teams (procurement, sales, logistics, etc.) for GST-related clarifications.

  16. Support internal and statutory audits by providing GST-related information.

  17. Prepare monthly MIS reports on GST compliance and pending matters.

  18. Advisory and Continuous Improvement:

  19. Identify areas for process improvement in GST accounting and compliance.

  20. Provide advisory support to management on GST impact for new transactions, contracts, or business models.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) / CA Inter / CMA Inter
  • Experience: 28 years of experience in GST compliance, accounting, or indirect taxation.
  • Skills Required:
  • In-depth knowledge of GST law and recent amendments
  • Experience in handling GST portal.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills
  • Good communication and drafting ability for notice replies
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and report generation

Preferred Attributes:

  • Prior experience handling GST audits and departmental queries
  • Exposure to reconciliation tools and data analytics
  • Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tasks
