Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced
QA Automation Lead / Test Lead
with strong expertise in
Selenium C# automation using BDD (SpecFlow)
and
API Automation
, to lead end-to-end testing delivery for complex, large-scale IT programs within the
UK Energy domain
.

The role involves
portfolio-level ownership of testing deliverables
, team leadership, automation strategy, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement of QA processes. This position requires frequent interaction with senior business and IT leadership and the ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.

Roles & Responsibilities
Leadership & Delivery

  • Accountable for end-to-end testing deliverables across a portfolio and demand pipeline
  • Ensure high-quality test delivery for medium to large programs
  • Maintain business continuity and quality standards
  • Define and drive QA roadmaps in collaboration with Portfolio and IT Managers

  • Manage and mentor a team of 10–12 QA engineers, including:

  • Goal setting

  • Performance appraisals
  • Individual development plans

Automation & Technical Ownership

  • Lead test automation strategy and execution

  • Hands-on experience with:

  • Selenium C# with BDD framework using SpecFlow

  • API Automation

  • Selenium Grid implementation

  • Work closely with Architects and Scrum teams to:

  • Clarify requirements

  • Ensure testability and automation readiness

  • Provide feedback on functional and technical designs

  • Develop and enhance automation frameworks
  • Support CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and deployment
  • Create proofs-of-concept (PoCs) for QA automation improvements
  • Apply appropriate test metrics and quality measurements

Process, Innovation & Mentoring

  • Drive innovation by adopting latest tools and QA processes
  • Improve manual, functional, and automation testing practices
  • Document best practices and standards
  • Mentor junior and mid-level QA team members
  • Ensure alignment across stakeholders and delivery teams

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent
  • 12+ years of experience in Quality Assurance with QA Lead/Test Lead roles
  • Strong experience in Agile testing methodologies
  • Proven expertise in Test Automation accelerators and tools

  • Hands-on experience with:

  • Selenium C#

  • BDD framework using SpecFlow
  • API Automation

  • Selenium Grid

  • Experience applying test metrics and quality KPIs

  • Experience managing large-scale enterprise programs

Optional / Desired Skills

  • Strong leadership and ability to drive change through influence and collaboration
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Flexible to work across UK and US time zones
  • Energy / Utilities domain exposure (preferred)
