Role Overview

We are seeking a strategic and analytical Category Manager to oversee our dental product portfolio. This role is ideal for professionals with a dental background complemented by an MBA or MHA. The Category Manager will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies, managing vendor relationships, and driving category performance to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Category Strategy & Management:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Manage the product lifecycle, including new product introductions and end-of-life decisions.

Vendor & Supplier Relations:

  • Identify and onboard new suppliers to expand product offerings.
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts to ensure optimal value and service levels.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers to foster collaboration and innovation.

Sales & Marketing Collaboration:

  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to develop promotional plans and campaigns.
  • Provide category insights and training to sales teams to enhance product knowledge and sales effectiveness.

Inventory & Demand Planning:

  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with supply chain teams to ensure product availability.
  • Forecast demand and adjust strategies to meet changing market conditions.

Performance Analysis & Reporting:

  • Track and analyze category performance metrics, including sales, margins, and market share.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Dentistry (BDS) or related field.
  • MBA or Master's in Healthcare Administration (MHA) preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in category management, product management, or related roles.
  • Experience in the dental or healthcare industry is highly desirable.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions and with external partners.
