Staff Software Engineer, Platform Infrastructure Engineering

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Experience architecting and developing large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with non-relational platforms and tools for large-scale data processing (e.g., information retrieval, data mining or machine learning).
• Experience with Machine Management Systems at Google or other large hyperscalers.

Responsibilities

• Help set the technical direction and strategy for the portfolio of Google's machine management systems including Surgeon and Repair Subsystem.
• Work closely with our Engineering Productivity and Software Release teams to ensure that PIE release processes and validations are aligned with the testing infrastructure and release processes for our core systems to ensure a robust qualification strategy for all critical machine management service.
