Designation: Support Indirect Taxation (GST, Customs & Erstwhile VAT)

Position description: This position is responsible for -

  • Undertaking monthly and annual GST compliances i.e. filing of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9 & 9C
  • Providing support to Head-Taxation on Indirect Tax Matters
  • Assisting business team in providing response for queries & clarification sought from GST, Customs perspective as regards respective operations,
  • In-house handling of Indirect Tax related audit, assessment & litigation matters pertaining to GST, VAT, GST, Customs in close coordination with legal counsel / consultants

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review & computation of monthly / quarterly GST returns & GST ITC reconciliations.
  • Review of unmatched Input Tax Credit on monthly basis and monitoring, reviewing same with stakeholders
  • Ensuring monthly GST liability to be disposed off on or before due date
  • Monthly review of filing and applicable compliances under MOOWR regulations
  • Tracking and filing of monthly Export Incentives
  • Preparation of responses / submission to be filed with GST, Customs authorities during assessment, audit, scrutiny and appellate proceedings
  • Monthly review of books of accounts for accuracy of GST balances as per books and posting clearing entries in SAP
  • Prepare data and necessary documentation for Annual GST Returns (i.e. GSTR -9 & 9C)
  • Review and fulfilment of compliances as per Import of Goods at Concessional Rate of Duty (IGCR)
  • Issuance of EPCG licence, tracking for export obligation fulfilment, their redemption and procurement of final EODC
  • Preparation and compilation of data required to be submitted with Statutory Auditor and Internal Auditor

Educational qualifications preferred

  • Category: Bachelor's Degree / Masters Degree in Commerce, LLB, CA-Inter
  • Field specialization: Indirect Taxation with expert knowledge in GST, VAT, Customs & DGFT matters, Finance & Accounting
  • Degree: Bachelor of Commerce B. Com; or Master of Commerce – M. Com; or CA-Inter; LLB
  • Experience: 6-8 years with reputed manufacturing organisation

Required Competencies:

  • Strong domain knowledge specifically on matters pertaining to Indirect Taxation specifically w.r.t. GST, VAT, Service Tax, Excise, Customs, DGFT, EPCG.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Accounting and Indirect taxation

  • Multitasking

Required IT Knowledge:

  • Good Knowledge of MS Office (Excel); proficiency & certification in SAP would be an added advantage
