Cloud Computing Business Development Specialist

A highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager is required to drive revenue, adoption, and growth from state governments and educational institutes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of AWS services and be able to effectively communicate the value proposition to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Generation and Qualification: Responsible for generating and qualifying leads at scale and closing business deals.
- Market and Technical Strategy: Serve as a key member of the Business Development team in helping to drive state government / Educational Institutes market and technical strategy.
- Tender Process: Participate in procurement processes through tenders and RFPs.
- RFP Management: Position and empanel AWS services on rate contracts of State nodal bodies.
- Market Segmentation: Help define the AWS state government market segments including Universities, Research Institutes, Nodal agencies and industry verticals we target.
- Business Development Plan: Set a strategic business development plan for target markets and ensure it's in line with the AWS strategic direction.
- Execution and Collaboration: Execute the strategic business development plan while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. business development teams, Proposal team, service teams, legal, support, etc.).
- Prospect Identification and Engagement: Identify specific prospects/partners to approach while communicating the specific value proposition for their business and use case.
- Pipeline Management: Fill the business development pipeline by engaging with prospects, partners, and key AWS customers.

Requirements:
- Technology Sales Experience: 11+ years of technology related sales experience or equivalent experience.
- Procurement Processes: Experience practicing best-in-class procurement processes (category management, benchmarking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, or equivalent).
- Business Acumen: The right person will possess a good blend of technical, analytical and several years of business development in Government & Educational segment.
- Software Development Knowledge: Knowledge of software development practices and data center/infrastructure/networking technologies.
- Cloud Architecture Experience: Experience in any of the following: Cloud Architecture, Systems Design, Software Development, Infrastructure Architecture, Data Engineering or DevOps.
- Cloud Services Experience: Experience with cloud services.
