  • Demonstrated experience of operational planning and the day-to-day management of complex healthcare services, including delegated responsibility for unscheduled care delivery.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead administrative teams in a clinical environment, including experience as a direct line manager with responsibility for supervision, performance management (specifically including ED clerical staff).
  • Experience of implementing and managing complex change and/or quality improvement initiatives within an acute healthcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of unscheduled care pathways, escalation protocols, patient flow, and discharge planning in a hospital context.
  • Proven experience of managing multidisciplinary collaboration across internal stakeholders (e.g. nursing, HSCPs, Patient Flow, Scheduled Care, Discharge Planning) and external partners (e.g. Primary Care, ICPOP, community services).
  • Evidence of a proactive, solution-focused approach to resolving operational challenges and supporting service continuity in high-pressure environments.
  • Experience of managing healthcare-related data, including the collection, analysis, and reporting of operational performance metrics to inform decision-making.

Demonstrated ability to plan for and coordinate operational responses during weekends and public holidays, including development of contingency and escalation plans in collaboration with clinical and operational teams.
