The Purchase Manager will oversee the procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services required for manufacturing operations. This role involves strategic sourcing, vendor management and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to meet the organization's quality and budgetary standards.

Role & responsibilities

  1. Procurement Planning:

  2. Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with organizational goals.

  3. Forecast material requirements based on production schedules.

  4. Ensure uninterrupted supply of raw materials and other goods to support manufacturing operations.

  5. Vendor Management:

  6. Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers and vendors.

  7. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms to achieve cost savings.

  8. Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, and compliance.

  9. Cost Optimization:

  10. Analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.

  11. Manage budgets and track expenditures to ensure adherence to financial goals.

  12. Implement strategies to reduce procurement costs without compromising quality.

  13. Inventory Management:

  14. Collaborate with the production and inventory teams to maintain optimal stock levels.

  15. Minimize excess inventory and reduce wastage through effective planning.

  16. Quality Assurance:

  17. Ensure purchased materials meet quality and safety standards.

  18. Coordinate with the quality control team to address any material-related issues.

  19. Compliance and Documentation:

  20. Ensure adherence to procurement policies, industry standards, and legal regulations.

  21. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, contracts, and vendor evaluations.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems .
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to optimize purchasing decisions.
  • Knowledge of market dynamics, pricing trends and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in or Exprience in related field .
  • 7+ years of experience in Purchased & procurementwithin the manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, machinery, and tools used in the manufacturing sector.
  • Experience in handling large volumes of procurement.
  • Understanding of legal and regulatory aspects of procurement in manufacturing.
