Job Title: Junior Engineer

We are seeking candidates with graduate degrees to join the Brain Annotation team at Sudha

Gopalakrishnan Brain Centre, IIT Madras-Chennai, India.

About the centre

The Sudha Gopalakrishnan Brain Centre (SGBC) at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT

Madras) is a multidisciplinary research and development centre focused on brain research. The

centre has been set up as a unique amalgamation of diverse disciplines from Medicine,

Neuroscience, and Engineering, where the brain research is through advanced integrated

neuroanatomy with the interface between neuroscience and engineering.

About the Role

We are looking for a Machine Learning / Deep Learning Engineer with interest or experience in

computer vision and model development. If you are passionate about ML/DL, & have some hands-

on project experience, or if you eager to learn, you are welcome to apply.

You will work on building and improving models such as CNN, R-CNN, YOLO and other

architectures for tasks like object detection, classification, and segmentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

 Basic understanding of machine learning & deep learning concepts.

 Familiarity with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras (hands-on or

coursework experience is fine).

 Interest or experience with CNN, R-CNN, YOLO models.

 Knowledge of image processing and computer vision techniques (OpenCV, scikit-image).

o Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

o Time management skills to prioritize and meet deadlines

o Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

o Flexibility to work in a changing and fast-paced environment

o Drive, determination and ability to hit aggressive milestones/deadlines

Education and Experience

 Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or

related fields.

 Even if your degree is in B.Sc / M.Sc or other disciplines, you can apply if you have hands-

on experience in ML/DL projects.
