The Network Operations Lead is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of the company's network infrastructure. This role will oversee daily operations, lead a team of network engineers/technicians, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive network reliability and efficiency. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with leadership skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Network Operations team (L1–L3 engineers).
  • Monitor and maintain enterprise network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, WLAN, firewalls, VPN, load balancers).
  • Oversee incident, problem, and change management processes.
  • Establish and maintain operational procedures, playbooks, and escalation paths.
  • Ensure 24/7/365 network availability with proactive monitoring and automated alerts.
  • Collaborate with security teams to enforce compliance with corporate standards and best practices.
  • Manage vendor relationships, service providers, and network contracts.
  • Perform capacity planning and propose network improvements.
  • Drive root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents and ensure preventive measures are implemented.
  • Prepare performance reports, metrics, and dashboards for leadership.



Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 7 years of network engineering/operations experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or equivalent network devices
    • Routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, STP, etc.)
    • Firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS
    • Network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, etc.)
  • Experience managing hybrid environments (on-prem cloud: AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent certifications.
  • Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Python, Terraform).
  • Exposure to SD-WAN, SASE, and modern cloud networking.
  • Background in highly regulated environments (finance, pharma, telco).
