Job Title: AC TechnicianJob Overview:
The AC Technician is responsible for ensuring that air conditioning systems operate efficiently and effectively. This role involves diagnosing problems, performing repairs, and conducting regular maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Key Responsibilities:

- **Installation**: Install new air conditioning systems and components, including ductwork, thermostats, and ventilation products.
- **Maintenance**: Perform routine maintenance and servicing of HVAC systems to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment life.
- **Repair**: Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with air conditioning systems, including electrical and mechanical components, and perform necessary repairs.
- **Inspection**: Conduct inspections of HVAC systems to identify inefficiencies, potential problems, and safety hazards.
- **Documentation**: Maintain accurate records of services performed, repairs made, and parts used.
- **Customer Service**: Communicate effectively with clients to explain issues, provide solutions, and answer any questions regarding HVAC systems and maintenance.
- **Compliance**: Adhere to industry regulations, safety standards, and local building codes when performing services.

Skills and Qualifications:

- **Technical Skills**: Proficiency in HVAC systems, tools, and instruments. Knowledge of electrical systems, refrigerant handling, and duct design.
- **Problem-Solving**: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
- **Customer Service**: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients effectively.
- **Physical Ability**: Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various conditions, including attics and rooftops.
- **Certification and Licensing**: Valid HVAC certification and any required state or local licenses. EPA certification for handling refrigerants may also be necessary.

Education and Experience:

- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an HVAC training program is often preferred.
- **Experience**: Previous experience in HVAC installation and repair is advantageous. Apprenticeships or on-the-job training can also be beneficial.

Working Conditions:

- AC Technicians may work in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. The job can involve working indoors and outdoors, and may require on-call availability for emergency repairs.
