**Job description of Planning engineer**:To deliver & integrate all Project planning activities/deliverables for a portfolio of oil and gas projects being executed / under proposal in LTEH. Responsible for delivery of standard, consistent and realistic project plans reflecting the assessed risk parameters for each project

- Reporting to the Planning Manager/ Project Control Manager, prepare a full cost and resource loaded programme and other micro programmes for execution of T&I work.
- Preparation of schedule with inputs from Scope of work, discipline engineers, etc.
- Preparation of project control plans with progress reporting formats.
- Preparation of daily progress report, weekly progress report and Monthly progress report
- Experience on project management schedule i.e., Primavera 6.0, MS Projects
- Experience on Enterprise Resource planning software SAP
- Knowledge of current industry and technical developments.
- Early flagging of potential risk, suggest a corrective action for slippage (if any).
- Prepare look ahead schedules and reporting early warnings to Project team.
- Liaise with and challenge Project Engineering & Development Team to ensure proper understanding of the key schedule sensitivities and drivers.
- Provide engineering and procurement needs to meet construction and shutdown plans
- Develop contract key dates, milestones and completion plan dates that align with the overall project schedule.
- Participate in evaluating bid schedules and reviewing contractor plans to support contract award recommendations. Identification of Opportunities in the bid/ schedule.
- Strong communication, planning and organization skills.
- Worked independently on proposals for new projects. Capable of performing duties with no direct supervision and within agreed schedules and budgets.
- Support the Project Controls Manager and Project Management Team in planning and identifying issues that could limit progress or impact project budgets.
- Preparation of WBS, Budget, PR, PO/ Services in SAP PS/ MM system.
- Attend various meetings (KOM, weekly and monthly) for the ongoing projects and upcoming projects
- Deliver and maintain consistent, realistic plans and control structures for the project.
- Understand the list of plans required to execute the assigned project sub-elements and their interface to other sub-elements
- Develop the activities, logic, resources and progress for the assigned project sub-elements, leading to the creation of the baseline schedule and its subsequent maintenance
- Implement and comply with the planning and progress monitoring procedures.
- Conduct the schedule monthly progress update, forecast, critical path and trend analyses for assigned elements, including any impact from interface areas
- To develop project execution plan based on the Scope of work
- To identify the Risks associated with the project in the form of Risk register which may affect the project deliverables. Identify the preventive action/ alternate action needed for its mitigation.
- Monitoring and tracking of all activities during the project execution phase and coordination with other departments for its timely completion.
- Tracking of long duration / critical path in the project through baseline philosophy
- Coordination with engineering, procurement and fabrication department for getting inputs on the readiness of structures for T&I works.
- Coordination with contracts department for change orders under the project
- Develop contract sections for planning and progress reporting.
- Produce Project Planning closeout report and Productivity
- Supervise planning / scheduling activities when delegated.
- Identify schedule associated cost trends for management attention
- Prior experience in Oil and Gas projects
- Demonstrates an intermediate level understanding of project controls general technical skills
- Standardize the project reports as per the requirements.
- Align the planning and controlling procedures with engineering department, procurement and other departments
- Responsible for updating and maintaining the schedules, assessing the physical progress, analyzing data, performing trend analysis, compare progress with contractual schedule, suggesting corrective actions, when necessary and preparing report documents.
- Review schedule trends to identify problem areas and recommend corrective action to management. Monitor actual progress against planned progress
- Identification of Variations/Additional works and subsequent management of Schedule/ Budgets and provide planning and scheduling input for cost forecasting, for reporting purposes together with analysis of reasons for any shortfall, potential bottlenecks, mitigating actions etc., as well as for periodic presentations to all parties involved
