**The Team**

The mission of the Global Policy & Advocacy (GPA) division is to understand and shape the public policy debates affecting the foundation's work, build support for its major program and policy objectives, and develop partnerships and alliances that can advance the foundation's objectives nationally and globally. Because the foundation's resources alone are not enough to solve the challenges ahead, GPA also supports advocacy efforts to engage diverse stakeholders and promote innovative solutions that advance our program goals. We work in close partnership with grantees, our colleagues in the Global Health, Global Development, Global Growth & Opportunity, U.S. and Gender Equality programs and Foundation Communications to build the environment in which all people have the opportunity to lead healthy and productive lives.

**Your Role**

You will be responsible for supporting strategy development / execution, investment management, including managing the budget, and support tracking / measuring results metrics for program and global portfolio of investments and strategic partnerships to advance philanthropy and accelerate progress towards foundation’s priority areas, allied areas, and Sustainable Development Goals. You will solve complex problems, have a deep commitment to foundation’s core values, mission, and program, and is passionate about using philanthropic capital to reducing inequities.

This role will report to the Senior Program Officer, Global, based in the India Country Office, who leads the Foundation’s Philanthropic Partnerships Global portfolio, with a focus on Asia, Africa, and Middle East.

**What You'll Do**

The primary responsibility of the Program Officer is to support the Senior Program Officer, Global to help implement the Philanthropic Partnerships strategy, specifically across India and Middle East. This includes:

- Relationship Management and Strategic Partnerships**: Build and deepen strategic partnerships to advance philanthropy and accelerate progress towards foundation’s priority areas, allied areas, and Sustainable Development Goals. Engagement with and development of relationships with key partners, including philanthropists, family offices, government, philanthropy opinion leaders, private sector, advisors, intermediaries, and other key partners.
- Collaborative Funds and Platforms: Conceptualize, seed, and scale platforms, products, and funds in partnerships with philanthropies and partners to encourage and inspire large scale philanthropy to have impact at scale.
- Philanthropic Program Areas: Work closely with foundation’s India Country Office, regional strategy, Middle East, and global program strategy teams to understand their strategies and partner with teams to build strategic partnerships and collaborative platforms/ funds to advance the foundation’s goals.
- Philanthropic Ecosystem: Landscape and make investments to strengthen the philanthropic ecosystem, including development of knowledge products, seeding/strengthening networks, thought leadership convenings/ events, and generation of data, evidence, and insights to accelerate philanthropy in the region.
- Investment Management and Support: Oversee the execution of select investment portfolio aligned with the foundation’s philanthropic partnerships strategy across the regions. In addition, help draft proposal document, review investment progress, and monitor budgets for philanthropic partnerships global portfolio.
- Strategy Development and Measurement, Learning & Evaluation: Develop framework, support landscaping of opportunities, and prepare engagement strategy for foundation’s philanthropic partnerships team’s work in new geographies. Support workstream focused on defining and measuring results metrics for program and global portfolio of investments and strategic partnerships, including the design of tools to track progress.
- Strategy Support: Provide analysis and thought partnership on emerging areas of interest for Philanthropic Partnerships Team’s strategy. Monitoring trends within the philanthropic and social impact sector to inform strategy implementation and evolution.
