Instrumental Coach

**Job Title: Instrument Coach‐ Brass Instruments**
**Department: Whole School**

**Reports to**:Assistant Principal - Wellbeing and**
**Pastoral Leadership ‐ Primary School**
**Role**:
The **Instrument Coach **is tasked with delivering small group and individual instrument tuition to students and
supporting the whole school instrumental program.
**Key Accountabilities**
**Support the aims of the School and promote high levels of achievement
Follow and adhere to the Schools’ policies, procedures and operational guidelines at all times
Develop musical and technical skills at a level appropriate to the age and ability of the pupils
Post weekly rota for lessons and disseminate information to students, parents, and teachers
Plan and use a range of suitable materials to meet the learning needs of pupils
Actively encourage students in the program to take advantage of the performance opportunities in

school and the local and wider communities
Prepare pupils for examinations where appropriate and to provide support and guidance to parents

and pupils
Lead or support any Enrichment Activities or Ensembles as required
Maintain good communication with the Music leaders for Primary and Secondary and attend

required meetings
Contribute to the effective partnership with parents, the local community, other schools and outside

agencies to support and improve pupils’ achievement
Work and contribute to the stated aims of the Music Department
Ensure school musical instruments and inventory used by their students are in good working order
Be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Support the Vision, Mission, and Values of the School

**Experience**

Relevant prior experience as a music coach

**Qualification/skills**
**Must have a Grade 8 on an applicable instrument, an equivalent degree or equivalent skill and experience.
Any Diploma holder/ Graduate.
