The **Academic Counselor** will work closely with students to provide guidance in their academic journey, help with course selection, time management, study skills, and address any academic challenges they may face. The counselor will also collaborate with faculty and staff to promote student success.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide individual counseling sessions for students regarding academic concerns, career planning, and personal development.
- Assist students in developing academic plans and goals tailored to their strengths and interests.
- Offer support in navigating the institution's resources, policies, and procedures.
- Help students with course selection, registration, and creating schedules that align with their academic goals.
- Monitor students’ academic progress and provide early intervention strategies for those at risk of falling behind.
- Conduct workshops on academic skills, such as study techniques, time management, test preparation, and stress management.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
- Collaborate with faculty, administration, and other student support services to address and resolve academic issues.
- Stay updated on trends in higher education and counseling best practices.

**Qualifications**:

- 1+ years of experience in academic counseling, higher education, or student services.
- Strong understanding of academic policies, course structures, and advising systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using academic software and databases.
- Knowledge of student development theories and counseling techniques.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in academic settings.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience working with diverse student populations, including first-generation college students, underrepresented groups, and non-traditional students.
