**Job Title**: Test Engineer - Embedded Systems
**Location**: Chennai

**Industry**: Automotive / Embedded Systems / Industrial Automation**Job Summary**:**Key Responsibilities**:
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using **Python** or **Shell scripting** for embedded device validation.-
Perform **device-level testing** on embedded systems, particularly focusing on **ECM (Engine Control Module)** hardware and its interaction with various communication protocols.-
Understand and analyze embedded system behavior using tools like **Wireshark** for protocol-level debugging and analysis.-
Utilize the **GCC toolchain** and **Makefiles** for building and testing embedded software components.-
Collaborate with development teams to define test plans and improve the **test automation framework**.-
Work with communication protocols such as **Ethernet, CAN, LIN, SOME/IP, and J1939** to validate system behavior and ensure compliance.-
Use **Git** for source control and managing test automation code repositories.-
Provide feedback on software quality and participate in defect triaging and root cause analysis.**Key Skills and Technologies**:
**Version Control**: Git-
**Networking & Protocols**: Ethernet, CAN, LIN, SOME/IP, J1939-
**Scripting**: Shell scripting, Python-
**Automation Tools & Frameworks**: Custom test automation frameworks, knowledge of Jenkins or similar is a plus-
**Build Tools**: GCC toolchain, Makefile-
**Testing**: Device testing, Embedded system testing-
**Tools**: Wireshark for packet capture and analysis-
**Embedded Systems**: Basic understanding of ECM hardware and control functions**Qualifications**:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline-
3-7 years of relevant experience in embedded testing and automation-
Strong analytical and debugging skills, especially in networking protocols-
Hands-on experience with automotive or industrial embedded systems is preferred
