We are looking for an experienced professional to join Synaptic as in-house Legal Counsel. At Synaptic, we work with investment and data teams across Venture Capital, Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Asset Managers across the globe. Our clients rely on us not just for our data and insights platform, but as their trusted partners for anything related to data.

**Role & Responsibilities**

As the in-house Legal Counsel, you will be the internal expert on all legal matters pertaining to Synaptic and will support the administration of contracts in accordance with company policies and procedures, applicable laws and client requirements. The duties of the lawyer will focus on the review and negotiation of agreements with Synaptic's clients, suppliers, subcontractors, including nondisclosure agreements, data processing agreement and other agreements central to the commercial operations of Synaptic. You’ll work with stakeholders across a variety of cohorts and functions.
- Draft, review and advise internal stakeholders and negotiate with external counterparts on a variety of commercial agreements, including third party agreements, operations agreements, services agreements, partnerships, and other day to day business contracts
- Develop and implement processes for efficient and streamlined operations surrounding contract negotiation and processes
- Review the evolving landscape around Data Protection laws and Intellectual Property Rights with respect to Synaptic’s business goals
- Provide legal advice on a broad range of general corporate matters, as and when needed
- Anticipate issues and estimate risks strategically, identify proactive solutions that will eliminate or mitigate risks and achieve business objectives
- Work collaboratively with investor's counsel and other external counsels within India and the US

**Qualification & Skills Required**
- Excellent academic credentials and a LL.B / B.A. LL.B. / LL.M. degree or equivalent from a Top tier
- Company secretary qualification (good to have)
- 3+ years post-qualification experience with strong experience as a lawyer at a top law firm or in-house legal counsel in a similar setup
- Sound understanding of commercial contracting terms, experience in leading contract negotiations and exposure to cross-border contracts
- Strong command of Windows Office (particularly Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
- Excellent English skills (written and oral) are a must
