Role Summary

Specializes in providing assistance to field engineers, technicians, and product support in diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging complex systems (e.g., electro/mechanical equipment, computer, complex software, or networked and wireless systems).

Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Project leads, developers and validation teams during requirement analysis, design, development and testing phases w.r.t. Cassandra and Swift databases
- Implement Cassandra DB schema & upgrade scripts (writing installation scripts, tables, indexes, etc.)
- Troubleshoot Cassandra and Swift DB issues, maintain availability & scalability (replication, cluster) at production sites, labs and test-beds
- Optimize/tune Cassandra and Swift databases & queries for high capacity
- Perform database admin activities such as Cassandra and Swift DB installation, backup, recovery, upgrade whenever required
- Perform data migration whenever required
- Write shell scripts to support specific requirements/automation
- Perform database sizing estimates (capacity planning)
- Provide consultation to development/management teams w.r.t. Cassandra and Swift features
- Work as part of a team and provide 24*7 support whenever required

Job Requirements
- Min 2 years of strong experience as a BigData NoSQL DBA on Linux (Cassandra and/or Openstack-Swift or Hbase/Hadoop)
- Min 3 years of strong experience in administering any databases (RDBMS or Hadoop or NoSQL)
- Strong understanding of BigData/Distributed Database concepts, NoSQL schema modelling, etc.
- Demonstrated experience with any NoSQL database implementation/administration, performance tuning, etc.
- Strong experience in BigData/NoSQL high availability & scalability (replication setup & cluster)
- Proven experience in managing medium to large sized production clusters/databases (complex OLTP and/or data warehouse)
- Good experience on linux shell scripting
- Able to work under pressure and multi-tasking capabilities
- Open to work in a multiple DB environment where major databases are Cassandra, Openstack Swift, etc.
- Exposure to telecom domain is a plus but not mandatory
- Good team player with strong analytical, communication skills
- Pro-active, dedicated, committed and responsible
