As a Quality Control Intern, you will work closely with the quality control and assurance teams to help ensure that food products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. You will gain hands-on experience in food testing, analysis, documentation, and auditing processes within a fast-paced food production environment.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Product Testing and Analysis**:
- Assist in performing sensory evaluations (taste, texture, color, etc.) of food products.
- Conduct microbiological, chemical, and physical tests on raw materials and finished products.
- Help monitor product specifications and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- **Sampling and Inspection**:
- Take samples from various stages of production for quality checks.
- Inspect production processes for adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Verify labeling, packaging, and storage conditions to ensure they meet company and regulatory standards.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of quality tests, results, and any deviations.
- Support the preparation of quality reports, audit logs, and corrective action documentation.
- Help maintain internal databases for quality control testing.
- **Compliance and Safety**:
- Ensure products comply with local and international food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP, FDA).
- Support the QC team in monitoring and enforcing hygiene and safety practices in the production facility.
- Assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- **Collaboration**:
- Work closely with other departments, including production, R&D, and logistics, to address quality issues.
- Provide support in troubleshooting and resolving quality concerns that arise during production.
- **Training and Development**:
- Participate in training sessions related to food quality and safety standards.
- Assist in developing new quality control procedures, if necessary.
**Skills & Qualifications**:
- **Educational Requirements**:
- Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, chemistry
- Some experience in a lab or food production setting is a plus but not required.
- **Technical Skills**:
- Familiarity with quality control principles, such as HACCP, GMP, and ISO standards.
- Basic understanding of food safety regulations and guidelines (e.g., FDA, EU).
- Knowledge of laboratory testing equipment and techniques (e.g., pH meters, microbiological testing).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential food safety hazards.
- **Soft Skills**:
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
- Team-oriented with the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Adaptable and eager to learn new processes and techniques.
- **Technical Tools**:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of data collection and reporting software is a plus.
