Slitter Operator

The Slitter Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining slitting machines in the printing and packaging industry. This role involves ensuring that materials, such as printed or unprinted films, foils, paper, and labels, are properly slit into required sizes and specifications. The Slitter Operator will ensure that slitting processes are conducted efficiently, safely, and in accordance with quality standards. This position requires a keen eye for detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to maintain production schedules.

Required Education: Diploma in Printing Technologies with min 3 to 5 Years Experience as Slitter Operator Profile. in Printing and Labeling Industry.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Machine Setup and Operation**:

- Set up and operate slitting machines to cut printed or non-printed materials into smaller rolls or sheets according to customer specifications.
- Adjust machine settings such as speed, tension, and blade alignment to achieve accurate slitting results.
- Load and unload material rolls onto the slitting machine, ensuring proper alignment and secure attachment.
- **Quality Control**:

- Inspect materials before, during, and after slitting to ensure they meet required quality standards, such as size, weight, and integrity.
- Monitor the slitting process to detect any defects, misalignments, or damage to materials.
- Perform visual and tactile inspections of finished slitted products to check for uniformity, correct cutting, and overall quality.
- Report any defects or issues with the slitting process to the supervisor or maintenance team and implement corrective actions.
- **Maintenance and Troubleshooting**:

- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on slitting machines to ensure proper functioning and extend machine lifespan.
- Troubleshoot and address minor issues with slitting equipment, including adjusting blades, correcting tension issues, or resolving material feeding problems.
- Collaborate with maintenance personnel to address more significant machine breakdowns or technical issues.
- **Production Monitoring**:

- Monitor production output to ensure that the slitting process is running efficiently and that production targets are met.
- Keep track of material usage and inform the supervisor when inventory levels are low or when reordering of materials is necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of production output, including the quantity of slitted materials, downtime, and any other relevant details.
- **Safety and Compliance**:

- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations while operating the slitting machine, including using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection.
- Ensure the workspace is clean, organized, and free from potential hazards, and follow safe practices during material handling.
- Ensure compliance with all company, environmental, and industry-specific safety standards, regulations, and certifications.
- **Collaboration and Communication**:

- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and address any production challenges.
- Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure that finished products meet customer requirements.
- Report any issues related to material defects, machine performance, or safety concerns to the relevant personnel in a timely manner.
- **Inventory and Material Handling**:

- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials used in slitting and ensure adequate stock for continuous production.
- Handle and store slitted materials properly to prevent damage and ensure they are ready for the next stage of production or shipment.
- Ensure proper labeling and documentation of slitted rolls or sheets for inventory tracking and order fulfillment

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹38,000.00 per month
