Job details
Reporting into the Department Head - Legal, OSB India, to advise and support the business on commercial contracts and corporate matters for OSB UK and to support the OSB India Business in commercial contracts and general corporate legal advisory.
Experience
10-12 years of post-qualification experience in legal roles, with deep expertise in commercial contracts especially in the UK jurisdiction and international transactions.
Experience in multinational corporations, law firms, or industries involving cross-border transactions is essential. Extensive expertise in drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts with strong understanding of UK and international legal frameworks is essential. Proven experience managing multi
- jurisdictional transactions.
Qualifications Essential - Qualified lawyer in the Indian Bar Desirable - Qualified solicitor in England and Wales
Educational Background Essential - Bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B. in India or UK) Desirable - Master’s degree (LL.M from a UK University).

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead the end-to-end process of drafting, negotiating, and finalizing high
- value commercial contracts in collaboration with various teams in the OSB Group. Ensure compliance with UK jurisdictional requirements and legal standards across all contracts, including providing strategic advice to stakeholders on cross-border legal matters.
- Advising on general corporate matters and providing legal support to the Company Secretarial function.
- Undertaking legal research and preparing precedent documents and know how, contributing to the preparation of legal self-help for the business.
- Identifying and preparing training for the business; contributing to process improvement and identifying areas of the business that could benefit from legal assistance helping the legal team to bring more work in-house.
- Working as a member of a lean legal and compliance team, establish yourself as a trusted advisor to the business.
- Liaising with external legal providers in India and the UK in relation to a variety of areas of corporate and the UK banking law.
- Provide general support and assistance to the Department Head, Legal - OSB India and Group General Counsel and Company Secretary OSB, across a broad spectrum of issues as an when they arise.
- Maintain the company’s compliance standards and own compliance training.
