**Brief Description about the Project**
The ICMR-funded SecureUltrasound (SecureUS) Project is an innovative initiative focused on developing and validating a screenless ultrasound device aimed at addressing critical challenges in maternal healthcare. This project is driven by the need to improve the accessibility of Ultrasound and the ease of use in primary care settings and also overcome the shortage of skilled ultrasound operators in rural Indian health centers.
This project is undertaken by Division of Medical Informatics at St. John’s Research Institute and the India Institute of Science in Bangalore, which makes use of innovative tools and techniques to drive health systems research and healthcare innovation for improving healthcare outcomes with meaningful use of data.
**Project Research Scientist - III (Medical) - ( Jr. Radiologist )**

**Preferred Qualifications**:MBBS, MD/ DNB in Radiology
MBBS with six months training in the ‘Fundamentals in Abdomino
- Pelvic Ultra sonography’.
**Maximum Age Limit** : 45 years
**Salary**:Rs.1,20,900/- per month
**Language**: English & Kannada
Hindi, Telugu, Tamil (Optional)
**Experience**:
- Professional with 0-1 years' experience in performing Radiology Imaging techniques would be preferred.
Valid MCI/State Medical Council registration
**Location**: Bangalore
**Employment Status**: Contract (Initially for 6 month, extendable based on performance)
**Roles and Responsibilities**:
1. Perform and interpret obstetric ultrasound scans at field and facility-level study sites.
2. Support the validation process of the secure ultrasound device by comparing scan results between conventional Ultrasound Machine (Gold Standard Device) and a prototype Ultrasound device (V1-Device).
3. Assist in the development of standardized protocols for scan acquisition and reporting. Lead and coordinate the research activities of the SecureUS Project.
4. Should be willing to visit collaborating project sites in and around Bangalore, for field validation, stakeholder studies and to perform the scheduled scans.
5. Coordinate and liaise with state and national-level government bureaucrats and officials to update on project activities and progress.
6. Coordinate with health facility staff (government and private) for conducting the study in health facilities)
7. Recruit and obtain consent from participants
8. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and work closely with engineering and design teams to improve image quality and clinical utility of the prototype device.
9. Maintain scan records and ensure adherence to ethical and legal frameworks, including the PCPNDT Act.
10. Contribute to data quality checks and audit processes
11. Train and supervise the staff on project related activities
12. Prepare and publish scientific papers, reports, and presentations based on research findings.
13. Ensure compliance with regulatory and institutional guidelines, including ethics committee approvals.
14. Participate in grant writing and research proposal development to secure additional funding for project expansion.
15. Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and financial management related to research activities.
