OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a Microsoft Defender Security Expert to support post-divestiture transition activities, with a primary focus on reviewing, optimizing, and decommissioning endpoint security controls. The role will involve refining existing Defender policies, cleaning up inherited configurations, and ensuring that all active endpoints are secured while sunsetting unused components and disconnected assets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Review Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, and Defender for Office 365 configurations.
- Identify and remove policies, alerts, and devices linked to the divested entity.
- Clean up redundant or conflicting security baselines and endpoint groups.
- Ensure all RemainCo assets are onboarded with the latest threat protection configurations.
- Tune alerts, threat detection rules, and response playbooks to fit RemainCo's reduced operational footprint.
- Respond to security events and verify resolution post-isolation or decommissioning.
- Securely offboard or disable endpoints being decommissioned or migrated.
- Support backup and export of security logs or incident history for audit compliance.
- Help design future-state Defender architecture for a leaner security stack.
- Provide weekly updates, incident summaries, and a final posture assessment.
- Document all configurations, policy changes, and system interactions for handover to internal IT/security teams.

QUALIFICATION:

- Microsoft Security Certifications (e.g., SC-200, SC-300, AZ-500) are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of SIEM/SOAR tools like Microsoft Sentinel is a plus.
- Experience with PowerShell and security automation scripts is an advantage.

**Job Type**: Contractual / Temporary
Contract length: 2 months

Pay: From ₹600.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- UK shift
