**Overview**

You'll be responsible for both proactive planning and reactive problem-solving, working closely with the Internal Projects Manager to maintain optimal performance, security, and uptime across all web properties. At the discretion of the Internal Projects Manager, you may be assigned to work on web properties related to other company products or projects.

**Primary Goal**

**Key Responsibilities**

**WordPress Development & Management**
- Support and maintain WordPress-based websites (custom themes, plugins, performance optimization)
- Manage WordPress multisite installations and complex hosting configurations
- Implement WordPress security best practices and performance tuning
- Handle WordPress migrations, updates, and troubleshooting

**Laravel Application Support**
- Collaborate on Laravel development projects and deployment processes

**System Administration & Infrastructure**
- Provision and maintain Linux-based servers (primarily Ubuntu)
- Monitor system health and ensure site uptime and performance (99.9% target)
- Manage server-related tasks: DNS, SSL certificates, caching strategies, automated backups
- Support Freescout helpdesk system administration and configuration

**DevOps & Deployment**
- Manage Docker containerization for development and production environments
- Handle staging and testing environment maintenance with documented workflows
- Oversee database administration and optimization (MySQL/PostgreSQL)

**Monitoring & Maintenance**
- Implement and maintain monitoring solutions (New Relic or similar) for performance and error tracking
- Conduct regular updates and maintenance of plugins, themes, packages, and dependencies
- Perform bi-annual security audits and maintain zero successful security breaches
- Regular backup management and quarterly disaster recovery testing

**Required Skills**:
**Technical Expertise**
- 2+ years of WordPress development experience (custom themes, plugins, and core functionality)
- Proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, and CSS
- Working knowledge of LAMP/LEMP stack configuration
- Familiarity with Linux server administration (Ubuntu/Debian preferred)
- Basic to intermediate AWS and/or GCP experience

**Laravel & Modern Development**
- Working experience with Laravel framework development and deployment
- Basic understanding of Laravel ecosystem (Composer, Artisan, Eloquent ORM)
- Familiarity with modern PHP development practices

**System Administration**
- Proficiency with terminal emulators and command-line tools
- Git version control and basic deployment workflows via GitHub
- SSH and remote server management
- Basic Docker containerization experience
- Willingness to learn Freescout helpdesk system administration
- Good troubleshooting and debugging capabilities
- Basic database administration knowledge (MySQL/PostgreSQL)
- Text editors (Vim, Nano) for configuration file management

**Communication & Process**
- Asynchronous communication via Slack or similar platforms
- Ability to document processes and workflows clearly
- Capability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Strong research skills to determine optimal solutions

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience with Redis, and CDN implementation
- Experience with monitoring tools (New Relic, CloudWatch, or similar)
- React.js or other modern JavaScript frameworks
- Experience with AI development tools and integration
- Advanced Docker and container orchestration (Docker Compose, Kubernetes)
- Automated testing frameworks for both WordPress and Laravel
