**Introduction**:
The vacancy is for an infrastructure specialist working supporting the aPaaS platform, true DEVOPS role within PaaS Middleware.

The role provides exposure to leading edge Middleware software technology hosting and orchestrating mission critical services for the group. Build, configure, deploy and support complex non-production and production environments.

**What will you be doing?**
- Provide live systems support, including monitoring, patching and fixing any issues.
- Proactively monitor and deal with the incident queues, and provide analysis around any problems that arise from incident support. Deliver high quality incident resolution to Barclays’ standards, policies and procedures. Attend conference calls on high severity incidents.
- Undertake root cause analysis to deliver resolution to problems and recurring faults
- Involvement in BAU and project change activities, ensuring these are scheduled and resourced appropriately; and the correct level of technical information is available to ensure successful implementation.
- Ongoing review, QA and influence of internal processes, technical approaches and component-level build processes.
- Engineering of solutions where appropriate.
- The team is operating a follow the sun support model, but there is an requirement to operate as part of an out of hours callout rota at the weekend and during the hours in the week that are not covered by office cover from 10pm-4am, delivering both planned change activity and resolving high severity incidents across the Middleware

**What we’re looking for**:

- Knowledge of software maintenance and patching.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter, able to work unsupervised in addition to being a strong team player.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain requisite quality levels and service stability.
- Ability to work and adapt to an increasingly global operating model.

- IBM Security Access Manager 7 & 9x
- IBM Secure Directory server 6.x
- IBM Security Identity Manager 6.x

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

- Scripting skills (Shell, Python, Ruby, Golang)
- Operation system - Linux, Windows
- Redhat Openshift V3/V4 (Docker & Kubernetes)
