**Summary/Objective**

**Essential Functions/Responsibilities**
- Utilize your expertise in cost estimation to accurately assess the costs associated with large equipment like air compressors, turbines, and heat exchangers, considering factors such as materials, labor, engineering, and overhead.
- Analyze technical specifications, project requirements, and vendor quotations to derive precise cost estimates for equipment procurement and project execution.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to understand project scope and provide timely cost inputs for various project phases.
- Should be able to understand “Should be costing” based on detailed analysis
- Develop and maintain cost databases, templates, and models in Excel or other relevant tools to ensure consistency and accuracy in cost estimation processes.
- Utilize your strong analytical skills to identify cost-saving opportunities, value engineering possibilities, and alternative sourcing strategies without compromising quality.
- Engage in effective communication with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to negotiate and procure equipment and services at competitive prices.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings, presenting cost estimation findings, justifications, and strategies to influence decision-making and project planning.
- Create comprehensive cost estimation reports, documentation, and presentations to support project proposals, budget discussions, and management reviews.

**Supervisory Responsibility**

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

**Work Environment**

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.

**Physical Demands**

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary

**Education, Experience, and skills**
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 6-8 years of hands-on experience in cost estimation, specifically in the field of large equipment such as air compressors, turbines, and heat exchangers.
- Proven experience in managing cost estimation for turnkey projects, demonstrating a strong understanding of project lifecycles and associated cost components.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create complex formulas, macros, and data analysis tools to enhance cost estimation accuracy and efficiency.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and persuasive manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation skills to engage with vendors and suppliers to secure cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a keen eye for accuracy and consistency in cost estimation processes.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as within cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices in equipment procurement and project management.
