**About Aasraa Trust**

Aasraa Trust was established in 2009, working under the Bindal bridge with a riverside slum community. Aasraa started with 35 children and now works with over 8750 children across 60+ projects in Dehradun and Udham Singh Nagar.

Aasraa focuses on society’s most underprivileged and vulnerable children, helping them to break the poverty cycle through education, skills training, nutrition, healthcare, and shelter homes with a multi-faceted approach. The projects are tailored to fit the needs of these children, creating crèches, making flexible timed programs, and preparing them for mainstream education. Aasraa is certified by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) and works with Education.

Department of Uttarakhand in a School Quality Enhancement Program (SQEP) in 13 government schools. Aasraa also provides vocational training and supports higher education. Aasraa has built shelters for orphaned, abandoned, abused, and special needs children.

**Job Description: STEM/Tinkering Trainer**

**Job Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Develop a class-wise STEM curriculum and integrate it with the school curriculum.
- Develop curriculum-based activity templates to help the teachers to perform the activities systematically and effectively.
- Develop a curriculum and activity templets-based training module for the teachers.
- Design and develop innovative STEM/Tinkering-based workshops and training sessions for teachers.
- Design an Academic action plan/timetable for STEM activities for multiple projects of

Aasraa.
- Help the teachers to design the lesson plans by incorporating STEM activities.
- Help the teachers to transact STEM in day-to-day classroom teaching.
- Conduct demo classes for teachers to conduct the activities as per the templets.
- Classroom observation and feedback sharing.
- Work with students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Help the teachers and students to develop projects to provide solutions to the real-life problems they have identified.
- Assist students in the development of their projects and presentation.
- Link with the other organizations/schools who are working in STEM education and partner with like-minded ones.
- Explore the opportunities for the students to participate in science fares and competitions.
- Plan and organize an annual science fest for different projects of Aasraa Trust.
- Create a monitoring and evaluation mechanism to measure the progress of the students and identify strengths and areas for improvement.
- Periodic Training sessions to continuously build the capacity of the teachers.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of workshops and training sessions.
- Conduct follow-up training sessions and doubt-clearing sessions.
- Develop and update STEM/Tinkering activities and resources on a regular basis.
- Research and stay up to date with the latest trends in STEM/Tinkering.
- Develop and maintain relationships with other professionals in the STEM/Tinkering field.
- Monitor the activities and evaluate the impact of STEM learning and tinkering on conceptual understanding and learning outcomes.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor/master’s degree in engineering/Technology/ Science
- Previous experience as a STEM/Tinkering Master Trainer or relevant educational background.
- Knowledge of STEM/Tinkering concepts and best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to plan and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
- Familiarity with computers and various software

**Salary**: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Dehra Dun, Uttarakhand: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
