Technician

We are looking for **Technician having **ITI / Diploma / Degree **for **Communication systems and other IT systems (EPABX, Video Conferencing, Audio Visual Systems and Data Networks).

**Experience**: 1 year for Diploma / Degree and 2 years for ITI

Salary is fixed for one year as mentioned and inclusive of all.

**Internship and self-Projects are not counted as experience for this client.**

This position is for a ongoing support project.

**Responsibilities & Skillset**:
**1. Communication systems and other IT systems (EPABX, Video Conferencing,**

**Audio Visual Systems and Data Networks)**

i. Providing new connection / shifting of telephone connection / disconnection

of telephone instruments at working location and jumpering works at MDF as

well as in JB and associated works for satisfactory completion.

ii. Providing the telephone connection either through conduit / capping casing /

drop wire to the required places.

iii. Installation of casing capping / conducting for providing new connections

iv. Up keeping of records of MDF, Feeder Pillars, Junction Boxes, Subscriber

lines, telephone instruments and numbers connected to exchange and

updating the same regularly.

v. Maintenance of all Feeder Pillars and junction boxes installed.

vi. Testing of the telephone and other communication equipment well in

advance, transportation of the same to the specified location. Installation at

suitable place and testing of the equipment prior to the function. The

execution of other communication related jobs.

vii. Periodical checking of telephones as directed by EIC to have better

communication system.

viii. Housekeeping of telephone exchange rooms.

ix. Preventive Maintenance of battery bank connected with telephone exchange.

x. Maintenance of Batteries and chargers, UPS installed in Telephone

exchanges.

xi. Installation of junction boxes / feeder pillars on wall / floor and laying of

unarmoured telephone cables through duct or on wall as per requirement.

xii. Installation of RJ 11 outlet boxes, krone modulars (fingers and krones) in the

existing junction boxes.

xiii. Telephone junction boxes are located at outside areas. After completion of

painting each JB shall be numbered as per direction of Eng-in-Charge and

greasing for doors linges / locks to be applied for each JBs to ensure smooth

operation of junction boxes.

xiv. Re-installation of Junction boxes due to any modification by civil works or if in

bad condition. The same has to be removed and separate foundation,

cabling glanding, wire termination to be carried out as per direction of Eng-incharge.

xv. End preparation, glanding, termination, ferruling and pair identification for

10/20/50/100/200 pair armoured telephone cables.

xvi. The cables shall be joined with the bit cable and kit supplied by client.

The joint should be mechanically and electrically sound. This work includes

removal of armour, cleaning the ends, proper identification of pairs, refilling

of jelly and fixing of canisters. After finishing joint work, end to end continuity

for each core and pair shall be ensured. The entire joining work will be

inspected by an authorized person of EIC.

xvii. Repair of all type of faulty telephone instruments.

**2. The support service for Video Conferencing and Audio Visual System shall**

**include**

i. Operating the above systems as when and required or as instructed by the

EIC or his/her authorized representative.

ii. The support service for data network shall include

(a) **Configuration of modems, manageable network switches, firewall, etc.**

(b) Troubleshooting of network issues

(c ) The support service for Video Conferencing and Audio Visual System shall

include

i. Operating the Video Conference Systems and Audio-Visual system (includes

Overhead Projectors, Sound Mixers, Mikes, Amplifiers and other accessories

related to the Audio-Visual system) as and when required/instructed by the

Engineer or his/her authorized representative.

ii. Attending to complaints of the above systems.

iii. Updating records pertaining to VC conducted

iv. Housekeeping of Video Conference room and equipment being used for VC /

AV Systems.

(d) The support service for Data networks shall include

i. Upkeep of records of Network Data racks, hubs, modems, switches and LAN

connections connected to server room and updating the same regularly.

ii. Taking backups to the servers and update the records.

iii. Providing new connection/ shifting of LAN connection / disconnection of LAN

at working location and crimping works at Hubs/Data sockets provided and

associated works for satisfactory completion.

iv. Providing the LAN connection either through conduit / capping casing or drop

wire to the designated places.

v. Testing of the LAN connections and other equipments well in advance,

transportation of the same to the specified location. Installation at suitable

place and testing of the equipments prior to the function. The execution
