**Job Purpose**:
Safeguarding the health of all employees of Alupuram works, by ensuring proper functioning of the First Aid Center and Occupational Health Service Center ( OHSC) and also extending our services to other Hindalco locations and other organizations ,in the fields of occupational medicine and occupational hygiene.

**Job Context & Major Challenges**:
Established in 1985, Alupuram OHSC is unique in operation and function. This is the first OHSC in private sector in India and is the resource center for other Hindalco locations too. Apart from taking care of all health-related activities of Alupuram works, this center also extends its services to other industries and organizations as well, by way of occupational health checkups, health-related trainings and industrial hygiene studies, on a chargeable basis. The OHS Centre has been adjudged as the second best OHS Centre by the Kerala Government due to its reputation and the services offered

Challenges:
1. The external and all internal services of the center are to be met with reduced staff strength

2. Completing Periodic Medical examination as per statute within the targets for permanent employees(400 employees) as well as contract workmen(30 nos)

3. Facilitating proper health care for employees by tying up with reputed hospitals, ESI,etc for proper and timely treatment.

4. Upgrading the facilities including procurement of new hygiene equipment to replace old ones.

5. Counseling employees for minimizing absenteeism in the plant on account of various reasons

Under Graduate,MBBS
