Store Keeper

Position Title: Store Keeper

Reports to: Store Manager

Job Summary:
The Store Keeper is responsible for managing and maintaining the inventory of materials, tools, and equipment used in the engineering unit. This role ensures that all supplies are stored properly, records are accurate, and materials are distributed efficiently to support operations. The Store Keeper plays a vital role in ensuring that engineering projects and maintenance activities are not delayed due to lack of materials.

Key Responsibilities:

- Inventory Management:

- Maintain accurate records of stock levels, movements, and transactions.
- Receive and inspect incoming materials, ensuring they match the purchase order and are in good condition.
- Organize and store materials and supplies in an orderly and safe manner in the warehouse or storage areas.
- Ensure proper labeling and identification of materials for easy tracking and retrieval.
- Issuing and Distribution:

- Issue materials, tools, and equipment to engineering teams based on work orders and requisitions.
- Monitor stock levels and notify the management of any low-stock items or items approaching expiration.
- Keep track of all materials and ensure they are returned after use, maintaining control over assets.
- Record Keeping:

- Maintain a manual or computerized inventory management system.
- Prepare and update inventory reports, tracking materials used in projects and routine maintenance.
- Assist in periodic stock counts (monthly, quarterly, or annually) and reconcile discrepancies.
- Stock Procurement Support:

- Collaborate with the procurement team to raise purchase requisitions for stock replenishment based on usage and stock levels.
- Ensure that all purchased materials and tools are properly stored and accessible when required.
- Quality Control:

- Conduct routine checks to ensure materials are not damaged or expired and take corrective actions where needed.
- Report any discrepancies in quantity, quality, or condition of materials to the relevant departments.
- Health & Safety Compliance:

- Ensure that materials and supplies are stored in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Implement proper handling procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, or damage to goods.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the storage areas, following safety guidelines.
- Communication and Coordination:

- Work closely with the engineering team, supervisors, and procurement to ensure timely and accurate supply of materials.
- Provide updates on stock levels and material requirements for ongoing projects.
- Other Responsibilities:

- Assist with the preparation of reports and documentation for audits.
- Provide support for other ad-hoc tasks within the engineering unit as required.

Qualifications:

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required); additional certification in logistics, inventory management, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within an engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environment is preferred.( 4 - 6 years )
- Skills:

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management software or systems.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials safely.
- Knowledge of engineering materials and equipment is a plus.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹28,000.00 per month
