**Job Description Summary**: Post-Doctoral Fellow - Aero Thermal Mechanical science As a Post-Doctoral Fellow - ** Post-Doctoral Fellow - Aero Thermal Mechanical Materials** As a Post-Doctoral Fellow **Roles and Responsibilities** - Learn required tools/processes and perform advanced simulation and validate the models with published external results/results from in-house tests - Deliver on assigned project tasks with mínimal guidance and document results. - Collaborate with the team to improve aero-thermal management for GE Vernova products - Perform Literature Survey and State-of-the Art Landscape on Aero Thermal/Mechanical/Materials technologies. - ** Required Qualifications** Recently completed Ph.D in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering specializing in Combustion/Heat Transfer/Thermal Management/Aerodynamics/Materials (< 11 months post completion of Ph.D Defense) Strong background in Advanced Computational Modeling of Turbomachinery/Wind Turbines/Energy Systems Good technical understanding of Gas-dynamics/unsteady-aerodynamics/flow turbulence/structural mechanics/fracture mechanics. Simplifying complex fluid dynamics problem into 1D problems and reduced order models. Experience in solving Coupled & Multidisciplinary problem which include Fluid Dynamics, Aeroelasticity, Aeroacoustics, Fracture Mechanics etc. Hands on in Computational Fluid Dynamics/Structural Mechanics/Fracture Mechanics Experience with commercial software (FLUENT, CFX, ABAQUS, ANSYS etc), software developed at Universities or in-house code development Excellent oral and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment and accountability/ownership of assigned tasks High commitment and Passion for working on Decarbonization and energy transition Demonstrated ability to take up challenging assignments and deliver. Passion to innovate and creative problem solving Ability to do a State-of-the-Art Survey on and awareness/engagement with leading research groups globally in the assigned areas and synthesis the findings. **Desired Characteristics** - Product knowledge of Gas Turbines, Wind Turbines - Experimental knowledge of combustion/aerodynamics/heat transfer/structural mechanics/fracture mechanics - Advanced computational or experimental skills from “start-to-finish” to provide physics-based insights - Ability to code, write scripts for automation - Awareness of High Performance Computing Algorithms and supporting hardware. - Validation of computational models with experimental data **Additional Information**: **Relocation Assistance Provided**:Yes
