Duties and Responsibilities:
Staff nurses play a crucial role in infection control within healthcare settings. Their duties and responsibilities in this regard include:
Patient Care:
Provide specialized care for premature and critically ill newborns in the NICU.

Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and assess the overall health of neonates.

Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Equipment Operation:
Operate and monitor specialized equipment such as incubators, ventilators, and cardiac monitors.

Ensure the proper functioning of equipment and intervene promptly in case of malfunctions.
- **Patient Assessment and Care **Conduct thorough assessments of patients on the ward. Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and provide general nursing care.
- **Patient Advocacy**: Advocate for the needs and preferences of patients within the healthcare team. Communicate with patients and their families, keeping them informed about the care plan.
