Blurb

The role resides within the Digitization group of ProQuest - a part of Clarivate. The Content Editor will inspect Supreme Court publications in electronic formats (PDF and XML) and assign citations and index terms to facilitate user searches for content on the platform. They will use macros, auto-indexing, and research skills to compile a case history for each Supreme Court case.

About You - experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
- Experience performing bibliographic checks and indexing on documents in a research-adjacent environment.
- Knowledge in performing document control, end of production cycle completeness, and accuracy tasks as assigned.
- Strong knowledge of English grammar, punctuation and writing skills, and an ability to express ideas clearly and logically.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong research skills.
- Ability to analyze complex documents for main themes and to translate that into index terms and citations.
- Ability to maintain focus and work in a deadline-driven environment.

It would be great if you also had...
- Knowledge of XML and schemas.
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with judicial branches of the U.S. government.
- Familiarity with creation, coordination, and maintenance of taxonomies.
- Strong communication skills in a global environment.

What will you be doing in this role?
- Performing document control and accuracy checks on Supreme Court document XML.
- Indexing and assigning citations to Supreme Court cases.

About the Team

The team works on U.S. Government publications. The Content Editor acquires content on an assigned set of electronic or other formatted content in products dealing with the U.S. government and its judicial, legislative, and executive functions. The team consists of 12 people and is reporting to the Content Manager in India. We have a great talent in acquiring, researching, abstracting, and indexing and we would love to speak with you if you have skills in editorial work.
