**Why are we hiring a Database Administrator? **We’re on the hunt for an Database Admin as part of our company’s growth.

**What are you responsible for?**
- Creation, guidance on data services best practices.
- Creation, guidance on data security & governance best practices.
- Creation and maintenance of database instances.
- Provide guidance and recommendations to developers for database related development (for example database and query design).
- Assist in identifying and resolution of data related performance issues including query optimisation, indexing strategies, query execution plans and query design.
- Adherence to the Company’s Quality Management System to ensure that all work is handled Securely, Professionally and Diligently.

**To be successful in this role, you will need**:

- 3+ years’ experience of Oracle and/or PostgreSQL
- Work experience in Oracle database administration and design, preferably within a software solutions house
- Experience of installing and performance tuning Windows and Unix platform
- Working knowledge of PL/Sql, PL/PgSql and SQL in general
- Import/export and data pump.
- Data migrations, patching and bug fix scripts.
- Ability to configure, monitor and maintain databases (on prem and cloud)
- Automate routine tasks, improve backups, and test recoverability.
- Experience extracting and transforming data from databases to generate reports or data exports.
