the Medical Coder is responsible for reviewing clinical documentation and assigning appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes to ensure accurate billing, compliance, and data integrity. The role requires thorough knowledge of coding systems such as ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS, as well as healthcare regulations and reimbursement methodologies.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Review medical records and clinical documentation to identify diagnoses and procedures.
- Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and/or HCPCS codes based on documentation and coding guidelines.
- Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with federal regulations, payer guidelines, and hospital policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards as defined by the department or employer.
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems and encoder software for efficient coding.
- Stay updated with coding changes, regulatory updates, and industry best practices.
- Assist in audits and respond to coding-related inquiries as needed.
- Contribute to coding education and training efforts for clinical and administrative staff.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred.
- Certification required: CPC, CCS, CCA, RHIT, or RHIA (depending on the role and setting).
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and disease processes.
- Familiarity with coding software (e.g., 3M, Optum, Epic) and EHR systems.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain strict confidentiality.

**Preferred**:

- 6 month of coding experience in an inpatient, outpatient, or specialty setting.
- Experience with DRG/APC reimbursement systems.
- Knowledge of insurance billing and denial management

Pay: ₹30,743.62 - ₹60,113.63 per month

**Education**:

- Bachelor's (required)

**Experience**:

- Medical coding: 1 year (required)

License/Certification:

- CPC, CCS, or CIC (required)
