**Key Responsibilities**
- **Port Operations Management**:

- Oversee and coordinate the loading, unloading, and storage of goods at JNPT.
- Manage communication with terminal operators to ensure timely and efficient container handling.
- Resolve operational issues that arise within the port and work with port authorities to minimize delays.
- Ensure optimal utilization of port facilities and reduce vessel turnaround times.
- **Supply Chain and Transportation Coordination**:

- Supervise the transportation of goods from JNPT to various inland destinations (e.g., warehouses, retail locations).
- Ensure timely delivery and smooth coordination between shipping lines, transporters, and customs brokers.
- Manage logistics scheduling, including truck and rail transport, ensuring on-time deliveries.
- **Customs Documentation and Compliance**:

- Handle customs clearance for import and export shipments at JNPT, ensuring accurate documentation (e.g., Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists).
- Ensure compliance with national and international trade regulations, tariffs, and duty structures.
- Maintain a strong relationship with customs brokers to ensure smooth clearance and minimize delays.
- **Inventory and Warehouse Management**:

- Oversee inventory control processes and warehouse management, ensuring stock levels are optimized.
- Work with warehouse staff to ensure goods are properly stored, tracked, and dispatched according to client orders.
- **Customer Liaison and Communication**:

- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing timely updates on shipment status and resolving any issues that arise.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing concerns and ensuring timely deliveries.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders across the supply chain.
- **Cost Management and Reporting**:

- Negotiate with shipping carriers and other service providers to achieve competitive freight rates.
- Track logistics expenses, ensure compliance with budget, and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
- Provide regular performance reports to senior management, highlighting key KPIs (e.g., transportation costs, on-time delivery rate, cargo handling efficiency).
- **Problem-Solving and Risk Management**:

- Identify and resolve issues related to transport delays, damaged goods, or customs-related bottlenecks.
- Develop contingency plans to handle disruptions in logistics, such as strikes, weather disruptions, or port congestion.
