**JOB TITLE: Researcher**

**Where you fit**

Researchers work with data and mathematical and physics-based models for nearly all business units in Shell. The models and insights created support the business in finding hydrocarbons, running facilities, creating new products, and understanding customer needs and behavior. This researcher role will be based in Scientific Image Analysis and Simulations team hosted at Shell Technology Centre Bangalore (STCB). STCB is one of the three research hubs of Shell.

Your deliveries are:

- Development of computational research solutions for mesoscale simulations. These includes mesoscale flow simulations for a variety of porous media.
- Deployment of computational sciences toolkit to business in the areas of mesoscale flow simulations applied to industrially relevant problems.
- Examples of Mesoscale Flow simulations include flow in porous media such as fluid flow in porous catalyst, fluid flow in porous sedimentary rock and fluid flow in membranes.
- Delivery of computational research solutions according to technical assurance processes.

**What’s the role?**

Your roles and accountabilities are:

- Solid understanding of R&D standard principles. Applies standard R&D techniques or procedures to assigned tasks.
- Coordinates activities performed by subcontractors and suppliers.
- Engages with one or more (groups of) internal and external (i.e., research / academic institutions) stakeholders on operational level. Scale and severity of consequences if things go wrong is limited, involving some stakeholder management.
- Strong project management skills
- Demonstrated experiences of reporting and communicating scientific outcomes through publications and presentations.

**What we need from you**
- PhD preferred or master’s with 3+ years’ experience.
- Strong experience of mesoscale simulations applied to fluid flow e.g. fluid flow in porous media such as porous rocks, catalysts, membranes etc.
- Strong experience of developing and deploying computational research outcomes in the mesoscale simulations applied in fluid flow.
- Demonstrated experience of developing scientific software. Experience of high performance computation is a plus.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of R&D standard principles.
