Chemistry Lab Assistant

We are looking for lab assistant with a chemistry background for a premium CBSE school, the following requirements and qualifications would typically be expected:
1. **Educational Qualifications**:

- **Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry** (BSc in Chemistry, BTech in Chemical Engineering, or equivalent).
- Higher qualifications (such as a Master’s degree in Chemistry) can be preferred, but not always mandatory.
- A **diploma or certification in laboratory technology** could be beneficial.

2. **Skills & Knowledge**:

- **Strong understanding of chemistry concepts**: Knowledge of various branches of chemistry, including organic, inorganic, physical, and analytical chemistry.
- **Practical laboratory skills**: Proficiency in performing experiments, handling equipment, and understanding lab safety protocols.
- **Familiarity with CBSE curriculum**: Awareness of the practical and theoretical aspects covered in CBSE Chemistry syllabi for different class levels.
- **Handling chemicals and lab equipment**: Ability to safely manage chemicals, prepare solutions, and operate laboratory instruments such as spectrometers, balances, pH meters, etc.
- **Lab safety knowledge**: Knowledge of safety protocols for handling hazardous chemicals, proper disposal of waste, first-aid procedures, and maintaining safety standards in the lab.

3. **Experience**:

- **Prior experience in a school or college laboratory**: Ideally, previous experience as a lab assistant or in a similar role.
- **Experience in setting up and conducting experiments** for both demonstrations and student practice.
- **Ability to maintain laboratory inventory**: Keeping track of chemicals, equipment, and other supplies, ordering materials when needed.
- **Experience with digital tools**: Familiarity with using computers for record-keeping, reporting, or managing inventory, as well as any educational technology that may be used in the school.

4. **Soft Skills**:

- **Attention to detail**: Ensuring that every experiment is conducted with precision and care.
- **Good communication skills**: Ability to interact with teachers and students, clearly explain lab processes, and assist with experiments.
- **Organization and time management**: Ability to manage multiple tasks, like preparing labs, ensuring the cleanliness and order of the lab, and assisting with student queries.
- **Problem-solving skills**: Ability to troubleshoot any issues in the laboratory (e.g., malfunctioning equipment, chemical spills, etc.).

5. **Personal Qualities**:

- **Reliability**: The lab assistant should be dependable and consistent, ensuring smooth lab operations.
- **Professionalism**: Presenting oneself in a manner that aligns with the school's expectations for a premium educational environment.
- **Team player**: Ability to work effectively with teachers and students.
- **Enthusiasm for teaching and learning**: A genuine interest in helping students understand and enjoy chemistry.

6. **Responsibilities**:

- **Assisting teachers** in preparing and setting up practical experiments and demonstrations.
- **Supervising students** during lab sessions to ensure proper usage of equipment and adherence to safety protocols.
- **Maintaining the laboratory** by cleaning, organizing, and ensuring everything is in good working condition.
- **Inventory management**: Keeping track of chemicals and equipment, ordering supplies as necessary.
- **Documentation**: Recording lab activities, assisting with reports, and updating experimental logs.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
