**Job Description**:
A CNC programmer's job is to use computer software to create products by operating machines that cut raw materials into finished parts. Their responsibilities include:

- **Reading blueprints**: Interpreting blueprints and models of the product to be created
- **Writing code**: Writing code to instruct the machine on how to create the product
- **Operating the machine**: Monitoring the product's progress and ensuring it meets specifications
- **Troubleshooting**: Identifying and fixing issues that arise during the process
- **Maintaining equipment**: Performing routine maintenance and preventive maintenance on the machine
- **Training**: Training new staff members on how to operate the machine
- **Quality control**: Completing quality control during the manufacturing stage and on the final product

CNC programmers should be creative, analytical, and detail-oriented. They should also be able to work independently, follow directions, and have a positive attitude.
