Role Summary
WSP is seeking an Assistant Project Controller to join the iCRC - UK Communities team.
Our team is one of our most connected, collaborative groups, working in partnership with several internal and external client groups. As an Assistant Project Controller, you will embark on an exciting and meaningful career path. Your role involves working on innovative, challenging projects alongside industry experts within WSP’s world-leading multi-discipline team. Responsibilities include planning, scheduling & cost engineering. You will contribute to successful project delivery by ensuring accurate financial information, maintaining project schedules, and proactively managing risks.
Your contributions will shape the success of projects, allowing them to thrive in a dynamic environment. Whether it’s optimizing costs, adhering to schedules, or mitigating risks, your work will be pivotal in achieving project excellence.
**Responsibilities**:
- Define project aims consistent with client expectations and ensure adherence to established deadlines.
- Assume accountability for specific projects/frameworks or segments of projects/frameworks, under the mentorship of a Project Manager.
- Employ financial systems to support the Principal Project Controller/Project Manager in the analysis, supervision, and documentation of project financial outcomes and additional performance metrics.
- Contribute to the development optimization of project resource allocations.
- Aid in the establishment of job codes and budgets, using our ERP system.
- Collaborate with the design team to gather and organize engineering progress data to bolster Earned Value (EV) analysis.
- Participate in the generation of monthly billing statements for clients.
- Monitor Sub-contractor expenditures, assess invoices, and oversee payment processes.
- Record and monitor project scope modifications and contribute to the generation of change order petitions.
- Adopt a proactive stance in managing tasks, focusing on the enhancement of technical competencies and expertise.
- Vigorously uphold and advocate for the highest standards of health and safety throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
Key Competencies / Skills:
- Basic project management skills
- Hands on experience in using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Power BI and other Planning and Control softwares
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, Advanced Excel, VBA, Power BI, Power Apps & ERP systems.
- Outstanding planning and organizational competencies are essential for our dynamic work setting.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent project management qualification.
- Preferable to have CAPM or PFQ certification.
- Relevant domain certifications.
- Minimum of 2 to Maximum 4 years of experience in project management / Project Controls with Engineering / professional services consultants
