Whizamet is seeking an experienced and talented individual to join our team as a Senior Video Editor. In this role, you will be responsible for creating high-quality video content that meets our clients' needs and exceeds their expectations. With a minimum of three years of experience in video editing, you will bring creativity, technical expertise, and attention to detail to every project.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with the director, creative producer, art designer and graphics designer to discuss and understand the production's vision
- Review raw material to determine which shots to use in the final film
- Trim and rearrange footage to enhance the video's overall quality and flow
- Create the rough draft and share it with the director for feedback
- Manipulate and edit video and film footage using modern editing techniques and tools
- Maintain continuity while moving shots
- Color-correct the video to improve the viewer's visual experience
- Ensure that the edited film follows a logical sequence.
- Communicate with the director, assistant directors and production team throughout the project
- Create and review the final cut before releasing it.
- Manage and organize video files following proper naming conventions and storage procedures
- Deliver high-quality video films within their deadlines
- Adhere to style guidelines and maintain a consistent brand image as the director and producer require
- Stay updated on industry trends, new editing techniques and popular tools to enhance creativity and productivity

**Skills & Requirements**:

- A bachelor's degree or certification in video editing, film production, multimedia, visual communication or a related field
- Proficiency in video editing tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Lightworks or Avid Media Composer
- Knowledge of video formats, codecs and containers
- Thorough understanding of video editing and production principles, such as colour grading and composition
- Familiarity with visual effects
- Prior experience as a video editor, either in a professional setting or as a freelancer
- A portfolio showcasing previous video editing projects demonstrating your proficiency in different genres, styles and techniques
