**Position**: Freight Broker (Remote)

**Job Type**: Full-Time / Part-Time
**Location**: Remote (Work from Home)

**Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Freight Coordination**:

- Act as the intermediary between shippers and carriers, coordinating the movement of goods across various transport modes (truck, rail, air, etc.).
- Identify and evaluate available carriers for transportation needs.
- Negotiate freight rates and service terms with carriers and shippers.
- Ensure timely and cost-efficient transportation solutions for clients.
- **Customer Relationship Management**:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring satisfaction.
- Track shipments and update customers regularly on the status of their freight.
- **Market Research & Rate Negotiation**:

- Research the market to understand freight pricing trends and optimize rates for customers and carriers.
- Negotiate favorable pricing with carriers while maintaining competitive rates for clients.
- **Problem-Solving & Issue Resolution**:

- Address transportation issues such as delays, damages, or shipping errors.
- Proactively resolve problems to minimize disruption and maintain client satisfaction.
- **Technology & Software Use**:

- Utilize freight brokerage software and transportation management systems (TMS) to track, update, and manage shipments.
- Leverage load boards, CRM systems, and other tools to effectively match freight with available carriers.
- **Compliance & Documentation**:

- Ensure all shipments are compliant with relevant regulations (DOT, FMCSA, etc.).
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions, shipments, and communications.

**Requirements**:

- **Experience**:

- At least 1-3 years of experience in freight brokerage or logistics.
- Familiarity with freight management software and TMS systems.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry standards.
- **Skills**:

- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and handle multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly organized with attention to detail.
- **Technical Proficiency**:

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Comfortable using freight software, load boards, and online communication tools.
- **Self-Motivation & Independence**:

- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- **Education**:

- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- A degree or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience with load boards like DAT or Truckstop.
- Existing relationships with carriers and shippers.
