- **Installation**: Install wiring, lighting, control systems, and other electrical components according to blueprints and specifications.
- **Maintenance & Repair**: Perform routine inspections, troubleshoot problems, and repair or replace faulty wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- **Blueprint Reading**: Interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to understand electrical layouts and requirements.
- **Safety**: Adhere to safety regulations, including OSHA standards, and ensure a safe work environment.
- **Compliance**: Comply with all pertinent building codes, electrical codes (like the NEC), and other regulations.
- **Testing**: Test electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation.
- **Documentation**: Document repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities.
- **Communication**: Work with other tradespeople, architects, contractors, and clients.
- **Problem Solving**: Diagnose and address electrical problems and functionality issues.
- **Training**: May train or supervise apprentices.

**Required Skills**:

- **Technical Skills**: Strong understanding of electrical theory, blueprint reading, and electrical tools.
- **Problem-Solving**: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems.
- **Physical Stamina**: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in various positions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
