**Job Title - Scrum Master**

**The Purpose of This Role**

Act as Scrum Master for 1 or 2 teams for Personal Investing business unit. You will be the guardian of the process and artefacts with focus on leading teams through continuous improvement. You keep the teams focused on their sprint goals while staying connected to their releases, product lines and the company’s goals. You protect your teams’ ability to self-organize while encouraging them to fail, recover, learn fast and (ultimately) deliver.

- Ensuring that the Scrum Team adheres to Scrum theory, practices, and rules+
- Leading and coaching the team/organization in its Scrum adoption
- Guiding the team and organization on how to use Scrum practices and values to delight customers
- Guiding the team on how to get the most of our self-organization
- Guiding the team on self-organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks
- Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
- Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
- Works with the Scrum Team and the Product Owner to negotiate the minimum viable product for delivery.
- Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving.
- Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.
- Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
- Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
- Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
- Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example

**The Skills that are Key to this role**

Technical / Behavioral
- Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burn-down techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs)
- Hands-on experience in technology teams
- Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD.
- Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques, tools & approaches: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games, Jira, Burn-down techniques.

**Skills that is good to have for this role**

Strong time management and planning skills required.
Possess excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.

**The Expertise We’re Looking For**

3 - 5 years of overall experience with 2 years as a Scrum Master.
Graduate
First Level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM etc.)
