**Brief Role**:
**Lead Engineer 2 - Mechanical Component**

**Essential Responsibilities**
- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
- Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
- Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
- Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Take-over project from the offer-team, review/comment on the actual project documentation in accordance to Scope of supply and DOW, Cost-calculation incl. supplier offers.
- Technical and commercial review of contract documentation in risk reviews
- Prepare design layouts using CATIA in accordance with appropriate standards and design rules & Carry out necessary calculations related to design layouts
- Ensure preparation of design & detailing of various steam turbine components is according to the applicable rules, regulations, codes and standards and according to good engineering practice especially with regard to Environmental aspects and Health & Safety
- Ensure definition of material specifications for various steam turbine component according to applicable rules
- Participate Design Reviews and the Design Freeze meetings and ensure that corrective actions defined by the Design Reviews are closed on time
- To review/prepare production order with the relevant design and quality documentation
- Implementation and adherence to change control process in projects and tenders
- Ensure project planning and budgeting of the assigned deliverables/projects meeting objectives and targets.
- Rendering technical consultation, assessments and technical judgements and disposition of Site/Shop NCRs.
- To participate in engineering interface reviews & meetings
- Technical assistance to Customer/Shop & Erection/commissioning team queries
- To review and mentoring the assigned engineering deliverable to the Engineers.
- Engineering support to product localization team in developing local vendors for procuring steam turbine under direction of group head.
- To give inputs to group head in resource planning according to project requirements.
- To provide engineering inputs to technical tendering design teams bid preparation.
- To prepare process flow charts and work instructions for Engineering deliverable in Scope of supply and DOW.
- Ensure adherence to quality policies, procedures and directives by group & support quality audits under direction of group head.
- To give inputs to group head in identifying training needs and skill gap to handle Scope of supply and DOW.

**Education-**
UG: B.Tech/B.E. - Mechanical
PG:Any Postgraduate
Doctorate:Doctorate Not Required
Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical with at least 5 additional years of experience in Steam turbine or Gas turbine design

Mandatory (MUST)
5 years steam turbine design related experience.
Familiarity with steam turbine design, construction and working principles
Sound knowledge in drawing practices
Sound knowledge with modern engineering tools, norms and design rules
Experience in layout design or design analysis of turbo machinery components
Knowledge of CATIA V5 or any other 3D CAD software
Knowledge of the manufacturing processes involved for steam turbine components
Knowledge of erection of steam turbine components would be an added advantage
Effective planning, organisation and presentation skills including the ability to prioritise and plan work.

**Desirable (NICE TO HAVE)**
Familiarity to turbine auxiliary systems & Power plant auxiliaries
Familiarity to turbine operational concepts
